Dociq: AI PDF Scanner & OCR
Dociq turns your Android phone into a fast document scanner. Point the camera at a page and Dociq detects the edges, straightens it, cleans it up and saves a sharp PDF, with OCR that makes the text searchable and copyable. All of it happens on your device.
Key Features
- Automatic edge detection and perspective correction for documents and ID cards
- Multi-page and batch scanning into a single PDF
- On-device OCR (text recognition): copy and search scanned text
- Clean-up filters for shadows, glare and low light
- Export as PDF or image; no watermarks on the free tier
- Offline-first and private: no account, and documents are never uploaded
How Scanning Works
- Point and capture. Hold the phone over the page. Dociq detects the document's edges automatically and guides the capture; in batch mode you can keep going page after page.
- Straighten and clean. The scan is perspective-corrected — a photo taken at an angle becomes a flat, rectangular page — and filters reduce shadows, glare and uneven light so the text stays readable.
- Recognise the text. On-device OCR reads the words on the page, so your PDF can be searched and its text copied into other apps. The original page image is kept as well.
- Save and share. Export as a PDF or an image and share it wherever it needs to go, or keep it in the app's library on your device. No watermark is added, on any tier.
What You Can Scan
Documents and Letters
Contracts, application forms, official letters and printed agreements — the paperwork that usually demands a flatbed scanner. Multi-page documents are combined into one PDF in the right order.
ID Cards and Personal Documents
ID-card mode is framed for small documents: identity cards, driving licences, membership and insurance cards. Because nothing is uploaded, scanning personal IDs with Dociq does not hand a copy of them to a stranger's server.
Receipts and Bills
Paper receipts fade; scans do not. Capture receipts and utility bills as you get them and you have a searchable record for expenses, warranties and returns.
Whiteboards and Notes
Meeting whiteboards, classroom boards and handwritten notebook pages photograph badly at an angle. Perspective correction flattens them into readable pages you can actually revise from later.
Books and Printed Pages
Individual pages from books, manuals and journals can be scanned for personal reference — a recipe from a borrowed cookbook, a page from a manual you are about to return, a child's textbook page for homework help.
Built for Privacy
Many scanner apps upload your documents to the cloud. Dociq does not. Scanning and OCR run entirely on the phone, so contracts, IDs and personal papers stay where they belong: with you.
This is a deliberate trade-off, and we think it is the right one. A cloud scanner can offer extras that depend on servers, but it also means copies of your most sensitive papers — passports, contracts, medical letters — sit on someone else's computer. Dociq's answer is to do the whole job on the device in your hand, which modern phones are easily fast enough to do.
