About DIYTech Labs

DIYTech Labs is a small independent Android app studio. We build practical apps that respect your privacy and your phone's storage, and we publish them on Google Play under the name DIYTech Labs.

What We Make

Our apps cover everyday jobs people actually have: signing documents (Draw Signature), scanning paper into PDFs (Dociq), quick calculations and saving shared media. Most of our users found us through word of mouth and the Play Store, and many of our apps have grown from the DIY Tech Pro tutorials community that started in 2017.

That focus is deliberate. A large app suite can do a little of everything and be forgotten; a small tool that signs a document in ten seconds, or turns a paper form into a clean PDF without uploading it anywhere, gets kept on the phone. Every app here started as something the founder needed himself, or something readers and users repeatedly asked for — first through the DIY Tech Pro tutorials, and now through Play Store reviews and support emails.

Our Principles

  • On-device first: features run on your phone, not on our servers
  • No account walls: download and use, no signup required
  • Honest free tiers: useful without paying, no fake limits or watermarks on exports
  • Small and fast: apps that start instantly and work offline

How Feedback Shapes the Apps

This is a one-developer studio, which has an advantage big teams lose: the person who reads your email is the person who can fix the problem. Support messages and Play Store reviews are read directly, and they genuinely steer the work. Draw Signature's updates have come from how people actually sign on small screens. Dociq's privacy design — everything on the device, nothing uploaded — is a response to what users told us made them nervous about scanner apps. If you write to us, you are not opening a ticket in a system; you are talking to the studio.

Timeline

2017 — Tutorials and First Apps

DIY Tech Pro begins as a tutorials site and YouTube channel about DIY electronics: circuits, batteries, cables and small builds. The first apps appear alongside the tutorials — an early signature app — made for the same audience that was reading and watching.

The WordPress Years

For several years the tutorials site runs on WordPress, growing a library of electronics guides and app pages. Some of those guides are still useful — and still linked from other websites — which is why a selection of them is maintained on this site today, at their original addresses.

2026 — A New Home for the Studio

diytechpro.com is relaunched as the home of DIYTech Labs: a fast, static site with a page for every app, honest privacy policies hosted on our own domain, and the surviving tutorials kept alive. The old WordPress site is retired; nothing about the new site depends on it.

Today

The studio's apps live on Google Play — Draw Signature, Dociq, Smart Calculator and more — and development continues on the apps our users write to us about. Alongside the studio, founder Rahib Ali also builds FrostRank, a sister project offering free SEO and developer tools that run in the browser.

The Studio

DIYTech Labs was founded by Rahib Ali, a software developer with more than a decade of experience building web and mobile products. The studio is based in Pakistan and serves users worldwide through Google Play. Read more on his author profile. Questions or feedback about any app? Contact us.
